Tour Itinerary

In one day, we offer a tour from Melbourne to explore the stunning Grampians National Park.

Visitors will travel back in time as they admire the Ancient Landscape, which features breathtaking mountain ranges and impressive sandstone ridges. With the guidance of a knowledgeable tour leader, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for the countryside and historical background of the region.

As you leave the city behind, the journey takes you 250 km west through the countryside with a rich history of the Victorian Goldrush. Along the way, you’ll stop in one of the charming towns to learn about mining history and enjoy a morning tea or coffee.

Upon arrival at Grampians National Park, visitors can explore the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre and learn about the creation stories defining this diverse landscape’s cultural significance. The centre also provides opportunities to observe native wildlife such as wallabies, emus, and possibly echidnas. Gain a deeper understanding of the significance of Gariwerd to the Indigenous people.
Reeds Lookout offers panoramic views of Lake Wartook, the Victoria Valley, and the Mount Difficult Range. After a hike through the gum trees and interesting rock formations, we reach The Balconies. It is known for its famous ‘jaws of death’ and offers majestic views and scenery, depicted in the Japanese Animation ‘Princess Mononoke’.
One can hike down to the base of the most famous waterfall in Victoria Valley and back to admire the abundant water and experience the refreshing fresh air spray. The hike consists of approximately 250 steps to the base and back. Additionally, if you prefer a simpler, flat walk over the top of the falls, that is perfectly acceptable. If Mackenzie Falls is closed, visitors can hike to Silverband Falls for a peaceful alternative.
A visit to the Boroka lookout offers an opportunity to capture the breathtaking scenery. Depending on the weather, Lake Bellfield may be an alternative option for a walk along the damn, offering a unique perspective between the two mountain ranges.
In the town of Halls Gap, there is an interesting phenomenon where kangaroos are present in large numbers and can be seen grazing on the grass in the evenings, rendering lawnmowers unnecessary for the residents. You will probably observe various Australian birds, such as kookaburras and emus, but we guarantee you will not depart from the Grampians without encountering a kangaroo. Sometimes, we have the opportunity to see echidnas and wallabies. Remember not to feed wild animals, but ensure your camera has enough battery.

At some point, we need to return to the city. The 3-hour trip from the Grampians includes a stop to buy dinner (which you must pay for).

After a day of exploration, take some time to unwind and contemplate. You will arrive in Melbourne around 8:30 pm and can be dropped off at your original pick-up location or use public transportation connections.
